WordPower Express provides advanced literacy knowledge, practice and expertise, critical to pragmatically embedding requirements within the national strategies, Every Child Matters, The Children¹s Plan, the proposed new Primary Curriculum and the 14-19 Curriculum.

WPE ensures that each leader / practitioner is equipped with the framework and skill set to rigorously reduce illiteracy and disadvantage; to rapidly become the most (cost) effective resource within their school or community
Who is the training for?
Every Head Teacher, manager, lecturer, teacher and mentor intent on securing language and literacy acquisition, working within all sectors of education or associated provision. This training is so critical that Governors are invited to attend FREE when attending with senior leaders from their school.
Course content includes
- Recognising why an average of 38, 700 students start secondary school each year, unable to access or engage with the curriculum - why 1:5 adults in Britain are incapable of using the Yellow Pages
- Making the implicit, explicit: refining knowledge base¹, knowledge transfer¹ and knowledge capture¹ to generate expertise and stimulate high cognitive engagement, across all student age and ability groups
- Embedding the 4 Key Concepts - empowering teachers, assistants, (and parents), to secure literacy acquisition through the delivery of a non-linear approach¹
- Teaching effective learning skills to create word hungry learners and confident, competent word builders / word users, across all age and ability groups
- How to improve the quality of adult instruction and formative feedback to inform thinking, facilitate effective learning and cement understanding
- Driving the application of high level language and communication skills throughout the academic, creative, physical, social and emotional curriculum; to raise the bar¹ for every learner and practitioner every day
